Michael Johnson Obituary

Michael Ray Johnson, 77, of Montrose, IA, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at 4:20 AM at the Good Samaritan Society in Ottumwa. He was born on June 5, 1948 in Keokuk to Clarence and Dolores Phillips Johnson. On June 26, 1982 he married Joyce Fox in Hamilton, IL. Mike was a car mechanic for City Tire & Battery for several years and finished his working career at Decker Manufacturing. He was a proud US Army Veteran and served in four tours during the Vietnam Era, Mike also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Johnson of Montrose; one son, Scott (Kitty) Johnson of Ft. Madison; three grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three sisters, Dorothy Kensett of Ft. Madison, Pam Muenchow of Fountain Hills, AZ and Teresa (Paul) Goedicke of Altus, OK; special nieces and nephew, Rhonda, Amber, Deonna and Kaden and several other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jim & Paul. Per his wishes, his body has been cremated. The family will meet with friends from 10-11 AM on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM with Pastor Dana Juergens officiating and military rites performed by the Keokuk American Legion Post 41 Honor Guard. Burial will be held at a later date in Oakland Cemetery, Hamilton, IL. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the Keokuk American Legion and online condolences may be left at www.kinglynk.com.
