Ralph Edward "Skeeter" Winder

Ralph Edward "Skeeter" Winder, 71, of Meredosia, IL passed away Sunday, July 20, 2025, at his home. He was born April 26, 1954, in Fairmount Township, the son of John Henry and Helen Mae (Branham) Winder. He is survived by his sister, Sue Wilcox of Jacksonville, brother, David Winder of Meredosia; nephews, David Wilcox and Shawn Knaus, and niece, April Woodward who he loved very much; and several other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Linda Maltby, Betty Smith, Judy Large, and Mary Weatherby; five brothers, Robert, Tom, Henry, and James Winder; and a nephew, Christopher Wilcox. Mr. Winder was a machine operator for Burlington Northern Railroad. After retiring from the railroad, he assisted friends with construction projects. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam War. Ralph was a member of Beardstown VFW, the Mile 66 Boat Club in Meredosia, and he loved fishing. A Celebration of Life gathering will be hosted by the family on Saturday, August 9, 2025, and details will be announced soon. Memorials are requested toward an expense fund in care of David Winder.
