Richard Nyle Kramer

Richard Nyle Kramer, 66, of Quincy, passed away at 2:43 pm Sunday, September 7, 2025 at in Quincy, IL. Richard was born October 24, 1958, in Palmyra, MO to Lyle and Marion (Hyde) Kramer. He was married to Deborah Kay Williams on September 7, 1979. She preceded him in death on October 11, 2019. Survivors include his three children, Richard L. Kramer, Melissa K. Kramer, and Mary K. Kramer, all of Quincy; and five grandchildren, Phillip Tallcott, Vincent Tallcott, Alex Palmer, Seth Brewer, and Aiden Brewer. Richard was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; two grandchildren, Toby Brewer and Emma Kramer; four brothers; and one sister. A skilled mechanic, Richard dedicated many years to Gene's Transmissions, where he was known for his expertise and dedication. He retired in 2025, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and commitment to his craft. Richard's passion for cars was unmatched; he spent countless hours tinkering on cars in his friends' garages, rebuilding a '69 Mustang and a GTO, and sharing his knowledge with anyone interested. The Tin Dusters festival every fall was a highlight for him, where he could indulge in his love for classic cars. Richard's interests extended far beyond his work. An avid sports fan, he cheered enthusiastically for the Cowboys, Lakers, and Yankees. He found relaxation in fishing, and joy in playing pool, chess, and dominoes. A lover of Westerns and a curious mind, he often watched the History Channel, engrossed in learning about the past. Richard's presence was a staple at local fish frys and D's Diner. Richard Kramer lived a life full of passion, love, and joy. His absence will be deeply felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Cremation is under the direction of O'Donnell-Cookson Life Celebration Home. There will be no formal services at this time.
