Roger D. Burk

Roger Dean Burk, 77, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away at 10:24 a.m. on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington, IA. He was born on August 11, 1948 in New Cambria, MO to Lloyd Dewayne & Anna Mary Davis Burk. He married Sandra Kay O'Bryan on July 5, 1980 in Cairo, MO. He worked at the Santa Fe Railroad, Moberly Correctional Center over the recreational area, the Emerald Lady Casino and retired from DuPont. He enjoyed the St. Louis Cardinals, Kansas City Chiefs, raising tomatoes to give out to his neighbors, talking to his good friends, Bill Linnenbrink & Gary Watznauer and especially spending time with his grandchildren. Roger is survived by: his wife: Kay Burk of Fort Madison, IA; 1-daughter: Krisha Burk of Fort Madison, IA; 1-son: Travis Burk of Fort Madison, IA; 2-grandchildren: Elijah Dean Burk & Isaiah Robert Dean Burk; 1-brother: Lloyd (Jeannie) Burk of New Cambria, MO; 2-sisters in law: Kenna (Preston) Gibler of Moberly, MO & Brenda (Sonny Langdon) Koester of Cairo, MO; 3-brothers in law: Danny (Wenda) O'Bryan of Cairo, MO, Randy (Ruth Smoot) O'Bryan of Jacksonville, MO & Roger Bocke of New Cambria, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents & his sister, Cathy Bocke. Cremation has been entrusted to the care of King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. A visitation will be held from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Friday, October 10, 2025 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. A memorial service will immediately follow at 5:30 p.m. with Pastor Ken Barlow officiating. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the Fort Madison Special Olympics.
