Stephanie Hobrock Obituary

Stephanie L. Hobrock, 76, of Virginia, Illinois passed away Tuesday April 29, 2025, at Memorial Hospital in Springfield.
She was born on July 2, 1948, the daughter of Steve Treadway and Mary Lee (Bailey) Robinson and her stepfather Jack Robinson.
Stephanie is survived by her son Scott (Diana) Hobrock, granddaughter Lydia Hobrock, brother Tyler Treadway, and lifelong friend Karen McClure. She was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather.
Stephanie was a graduate of Virginia High School, then she attended Western Illinois University. Stephanie spent over 30 years working as a teacher at the Virginia School District.
She really loved her cats and rescuing any animal that needed help. She helped take care of an owl nest that was in a tree across the street from her home. Stephanie really enjoyed cooking for herself and others and helping her community. She loved reading, traveling, bird watching, and was a proud volleyball mom. She always made sure to spend time with friends and family. Stephanie will always be remembered for calculating how much daylight we lost or gained during each day.
Cremation rites have been administered and there will be a Celebration of Life at Virginia School (651 S Morgan St. Virginia Illinois 62691) on May 31st at 1:00PM. Memorials are suggested to the Cass County Animal Rescue (donations can go through venmo @cass-co-animalrescue or mailed or dropped off at to 1 Frontage Road Beardstown Illinois 62618 with "Stephanie Hobrock" in the memo line) or the Virginia School District #64 (checks may be mailed or dropped off at the school at 651 S Morgan St. Virginia Illinois 62691 with "Stephanie Hobrock" in the memo line). To: Karen McClure and the Hobrock family. So sorry to hear of Stephanie's passing. She was certainly one of a kind, and I always thought of her as a friend. She always seemed to find me whenever I would come back to Virginia to visit.
I will miss her.
My condolences.
