Andrea Doucette Obituary

Andrea J. Doucette (Shahinian) (Sullivan), 85, of Haverhill, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2025, at Haverhill Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. She is survived by her children, Terry Shahinian and husband Greg Morose of Bradford, Gary Shahinian of Bradford, and Thomas Shahinian of San Clemente, CA; grandsons Kyle and Cam Morose; and sisters Janice, Denise, and Nicole, and their families. She was predeceased by her first husband, Peter Shahinian; her second husband, Paul Sullivan; and brothers Leonard and Philip Doucette. A graduate of St. James High School, Andrea attended Merrimack College and earned an associate's degree in business management from Northern Essex Community College. She worked for many years as an executive secretary, a Realtor with Carlson Real Estate, and held various sales positions. Active in her community, she was a member of the St. James Church Choir, the Coast Guard Auxiliary in Newburyport, volunteered at Holy Family Merrimack Valley Hospital, and served eight years on the Board of Directors at Ruth's House. Andrea loved taking her children to the beach, the Bradford Swim Club, and the Bradford Ski Area when they were young. She enjoyed a wide range of activities, from gardening, cooking, and crewel embroidery to tennis, swimming, bicycling, skiing, playing the piano, and traveling. Her favorite retreat was Salisbury State Reservation, where she would walk the shoreline, greet friends, and lose herself in a good book. Her two grandsons, Kyle and Cam Morose, were the love of her life; she relished hearing about their adventures and passions. In recent years, Andrea enjoyed simple pleasures: walking the boardwalks (using her rollator) of Newburyport and Salisbury State Reservation with Terry, savoring the fresh ocean air; enjoying Netflix; joining Mary Jane's activities at Haverhill Rehab; and sharing stories while playing Scrabble and other games with friends Marsha and Leo Krohn. For over a decade, she watched Terry cross the finish line of the annual Cycle for Shelter fundraiser for Emmaus in Haverhill. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, August 20, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., at H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 210 South Main Street, Bradford. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, August 21, at 10 a.m., at Sacred Heart Church, 165 South Main Street, Bradford, with burial to follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Haverhill. In lieu of flowers, consider making a donation in Andrea's memory to Emmaus, Attn: Development, P.O. Box 568, Haverhill, MA 01831, or online at give.emmausinc.org/in-memory-of-Andrea.

Terry and family,

Mom was always family to me.

She was a very talented and lovely lady.

I will never forget the beautiful silk sheath dress she made for me in the 60´s.
She was meticulous with everything she did.

I enjoyed seeing her past and present photos in happy times.

I will miss our chats.

Deepest sympathies,
Pattie Ann
