Jeannette Daggett Obituary
Jeannette M. (Lambert) Daggett, 91, a native and former longtime resident of Haverhill, died Monday evening, October 21, 2024 at D'Youville Senior Care in Lowell.
The daughter of the late Herbert and Marie (LeBlanc) Lambert, she attended local schools and was a member of the Haverhill High School Class of 1950. Mrs. Daggett was first employed as a coil winder at Wester Electric Co. and later worked as a counter helper at Bradford Square Restaurant, Angelo's and Papa Gino's Restaurant, and finally was employed as a buyer for Maguire's of Bradford in the domestics department. In her retirement, Mrs. Daggett was a volunteer for the Hale Hospital Auxiliary and Merrimack Valley Hospital and as an elections poll worker for the City of Haverhill. She loved to travel in her RV with her husband, family and friends to places such as Alaska, South Carolina, Pennsylvania and Maine just to mention a few.
A former member Sacred Hearts Parish of Bradford, and Saint Ann's Parish of West Newbury, Mrs. Daggett was a member and Past-President of the Greater Haverhill Arts and Crafts Association, and a member of the Women's City Club of Haverhill, The Red Hat Society, The Topsfield Needlecraft Guild, the Winnekenni Foundation and TOPS Club, Inc. (Take Off Pounds Sensibly). She enjoyed braiding rugs, knitting, crocheting and tole painting.
Predeceased in June of 2023 by her husband, Donald E. Daggett, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her son Donald M. Daggett of Haverhill, two daughters and sons-in-law, Lynne M. and Brian Smith of Fremont, NH, and Jean T. and Stephen Grand of Lowell, a brother and sister-in-law, David H. and Ellen Lambert of Haverhill, five grandchildren, Gavin Daggett, Kara West, Erika Richardson, Amanda Grand and Marie Grand, and six great grandchildren, Cameron,, Mia, Ava, Madeline, Jones and Carson, and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her son and daughter-in-law Carey D. and Leslie Daggett and brother, Norman H. Lambert.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours to be held on Monday, October 28, 2024 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. Her funeral will begin on Tuesday at 9:45 a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Saint Ann's Church, West Newbury, and followed by burial in Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill.
