John Callahan Obituary

John J. Callahan, Jr., 77, of Haverhill, passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at Penacook Place, Haverhill. He was born in Haverhill on December 18, 1947, son of the late John J. and Madeline (Fegan) Callahan, Sr. John was educated in the Haverhill School System and graduated from Haverhill High School with the Class of 1965. He went on to proudly serve our country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Upon returning from the war, he worked for many years as a Jet Engine Assembler for GE. He was a member of the Crescent Yacht Club and the Elks Club. He enjoyed family parties, gardening, riding his Harley Davidson, fishing and woodworking. John is predeceased by his loving wife of 40 years, Ilene (Roberts) Callahan. He is survived by his son Craig Callahan and his wife Jeana of Mississippi, son Joseph Comeau of North Conway, his daughter Lisa G. Moore of Haverhill, and daughter Leah Bridges of Haverhill and his brother Robert Callahan and his wife Sharon of Haverhill, his grandchildren Danielle Moore, Kristy Hammer, Madeline Callahan, and Meagan Callahan, as well as several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Special thanks to Danielle Moore for all she did for John. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his visitation on Wednesday, April 30 from 5-7 PM at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. Military Honors will begin at 6:45 PM. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
