Bryce Donald Gardner, age 37, of Tucker, Georgia, formerly of Quincy, died Sunday, May 11, 2025, in Northside Hospital Gwinnett, in Lawrenceville, GA.
Bryce was born January 10, 1988, in Quincy, Illinois, the son of Curt and Donia Perrine Gardner. He was born and raised in Quincy and was a 2006 graduate of Quincy High School. He continued his education at Northern Illinois University and in 2010 received a Bachelor's Degree in Communications. Bryce worked in a Master Control position for several television stations, including KXXV Channel 25 in Waco, TX, Fox Regional Sports News in Woodlands, TX, and at NBC Universal in Centennial, CO. His most recent position was that of Broadcast Engineer for Encompass Media in Atlanta, GA.
Bryce was a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Quincy. His love of music prompted him to join the Pep and Marching Band, as well as the Choir and Jazz Band, in High School. This trend continued into his college years when he joined the NIU Marching Band. Bryce was an intense sports fan with a phenomenal ability to recall stats and figures for just about any professional sports team and player. He was considered by many to be the number one fan of the Atlanta Braves. He also loved the Dallas Cowboys, Chicago Bulls, and Chicago Blackhawks.
Bryce will be remembered by many for his opinionated yet tender personality. He liked to make his opinion known, sometimes loudly, to those around him. At the same time, he was the most tender-hearted and empathetic person you could ever meet. He was also a fiercely loyal friend.
Survivors include: his parents, Curt Gardner and Donia Jeane Gardner: a brother, Blake Gardner of Columbia, MO; an uncle, Dr. Grant (Tiffany) Perrine of Columbus, GA; and several cousins, Dr. Andrew Perrine, Rev. Brandon Perrine, Lyndee Perrine, Raegan Wieder, and Kennedy Perrine.
Bryce was preceded in death by an uncle, Brent Perrine; and grandparents, Janet Ruth Yates Gardner, and Donald and Pauline Perrine.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the Staff at Northside Hospital for their quality, compassionate care given to Bryce during his stay. Thank you, Landon, Sarah, Jane, and Dr. Hill, for everything you did for Bryce.
