Chad M. Hilbing, age 48, of Quincy, died on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 in his home. He was born on September 2, 1972 in Quincy the son of Tom and Marcia (Klauser) Hilbing. Chad was a graduate of Quincy Notre Dame and had attended both Culver Stockton University and Western Illinois University. At both the high school and collegiate level he was an all star goalie. He married Beth Mackenzie. She survives.
Chad worked with Hilbing Autobody and then with Dent-Smart Inc. He was of the Christian Faith.
First and foremost, Chad was a loyal and loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He loved being involved in his children's lives. He was an extremely proud father of his Navy sailor, Jake, his collegiate soccer athlete, Grace and his senior high school athlete, Sam. As his children grew up he loved to watch all of their activities and practiced with them. He was extremely close to his parents and brothers and was known in the family by the nickname, 'Bugs'.
Chad loved nature and being in nature. He enjoyed searching for Indian artifacts and hiking. He was always up for an adventure.
Chad was a Bears fan. He had a sweet tooth and enjoyed being goofy around family and friends.

HIS PARENTS: Tom and Marcia Hilbing of Quincy.
HIS CHILDREN: Jacob, Grace and Samuel Hilbing.
HIS SIBLINGS: Craig Hilbing and his wife Julie, Curt Hilbing and his wife Crystal and Casey Hilbing and his wife Bridget.
Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives also survive.
Chad was preceded in death by his grandparents: Anthony and Emily Hilbing and Lawrence and Marie Klauser, his godfather, Charlie Roan and his aunt Mary Lou Anderson.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 1:00 PM at the Quincy University Chapel. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Quincy University Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to his children's education fund, Quincy University Women's Soccer Program or to the AA Serenity Club of Quincy. Duker and Haugh Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
