David F. Huseman, 80, of Quincy, Illinois died peacefully at home on Saturday, August 2, 2025.
A son of Dorothy (Gengenbacher) and James Menn, David was born June 10, 1945 and graduated from Christian Brothers High School in 1963. He married his high school sweetheart, Judy Schutte on September 25, 1965. He was a member of the Missouri National Guard for six years. Dave attended the University of Illinois, worked at Lago Marcino, Electric Wheel and then for more than 30 years worked at the Quincy Post Office as a carrier, clerk and then supervisor. David was on the board of directors for the Quincy Postal Credit Union for many years.
In earlier years, David loved to fish and golf with his buddies, which eventually turned into lunches talking about golfing days. He was so proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved his time with them. He and his wife enjoyed traveling, playing cards and getting together with friends. He was a member of St. Peter Parish for 57 years, serving as usher and in the adoration chapel. He was a member of the K of C and past member of the Elks Club.
David is survived by his wife Judy, his children Scott (Theresa) Huseman, Randy (Tara) Huseman, Michelle "Shelly" (David) Reichert and Chris (Julie) Huseman as well as grandchildren Katie Huseman, Brandon (Lexi) Reichert, Trevor Reichert, Kayla (Dana) Hurt, Alexis Huseman, Parker Huseman, Emily Huseman, Elise Huseman, Elliott Huseman, Elijah Huseman, Eleanor Huseman and Evan Huseman. In addition, he is survived by great grandchildren Isaac, Mia, Jayden, Damon, Nova and Noah, as well as two sisters-in-law, Pat Huseman and Leanne (Dan) Hollensteiner, a brother in law, Mike (Donna) Schutte, and numerous nieces and nephews.
David was preceded in death by his parents Dorothy and James Menn, his brother Edmund L. Huseman, in-laws Junior and Marian Schutte, and step father-in-law Lowell McGlaughlin.
Visitation: 9:30 to 11:00 am on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at the Church of St. Peter in Quincy.
Service: 11:00 am Mass on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at the Church of St. Peter in Quincy.
Burial: Greenmount Cemetery, Quincy, Illinois
