David Kasch Obituary

David L. Kasch, 67, of 1308 Madison, Quincy, died at 12:15 p.m. Thursday (Dec. 8, 2011) in his home.

David was born Dec. 31, 1943, in Springfield, a son of Harold F. and Eva S. Boehl Kasch. He married Betty S. Kriegbaum on June 11, 1984, in Quincy. She survives.

David had worked as a carpenter for A & D Scenery in Las Vegas for 25 years prior to his retirement. He was a 1961 graduate of Christian Brothers High School.

David served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

He enjoyed talking and laughing with his family and friends. He loved Western movies and spending time with his grandkids.

In addition to his wife, Betty, survivors also include his grandchildren, Michael Kasch of Rosiclare and Michelle Case of Shawneetown; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Kasch of Rosiclare; two great-grandchildren, Shelby and Wesley Case; two stepsons, Ronnie (Erica) Cox of Quincy and John (Zoe) Cox of Winnebago; and step-grandchildren, Tanner Cox and Tegan and Tristan Cox.

SERVICES: 11:30 a.m. Monday in the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home.

VISITATION: 10:30 a.m. Monday until the time of services in the funeral home.

MEMORIALS: American Cancer Society.

ARRANGEMENTS: Duker and Haugh Funeral Home.

I was so sorry to hear of your loss. Dave & I were high school friends, we had a lot of good times, which I have been remembering since hearing the bad news. You can take comfort in the fact that Dave was well liked and will be missed. He will always be a 'VIKING' and I will never forget him.
