E.R. Vollbracht Obituary

E.R. "Dick" Vollbracht, 90, of Camp Point, IL., passed away at 11:57 a.m. Sunday, September 24, 2023, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.

Born June 17, 1933, in Camp Point, Dick was a son of Everett Charles and Bertha Sophia Janssen Vollbracht. He married Sharon Sue Eblin on November 23, 1972, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Quincy. She survives.

Dick retired from Local 965 where he worked on numerous projects as a heavy equipment operator. He also built and remodeled multiple homes in the Clayton and Camp Point area over the years. In the most recent years, he built and delivered many storage sheds to people in the area.

Dick served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Clayton American Legion. He volunteered at the Community for Christ Assistance Center and was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Clayton.

Survivors in addition to his wife are their children, Kim (Jon) Schrage, Wichita, KS, Tammy Pfaffe, Quincy, Cindy (Gary) May, Boerne, TX, and Kelly (Cathy) Swift, Kernersville, NC; thirteen grandchildren, Andrew J. Schrage, St. Louis, MO, Amy Schrage, Henderson, NV, Andrea Schrage, Chicago, IL, Christopher Schrage, Wichita, Christina Schrage, Wichita, Megan (Darrell) Triggs, Quincy, Tyler Pfaffe (Angela) DeSoto, AZ, Jordan Pfaffe, Quincy, Alyssa Deters, Quincy, Zachary May (McKenzie) Boerne, Justin May, Boerne, Elissa Rocka (Colton) Midland, TX, and Jaden Swift, Fulton, MO; eight great grandchildren, Dawson, Mari, Sophia, Chase, Hudson, Brook, Miller, and Callahan; three bonus great grandchildren, Raelynn, Reid, and Asher; his sister in law, Janice Vollbracht, Bowen, IL; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Roger and Ronnie Vollbracht.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 28, 2023, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Clayton by Rev. Kirk Cunningham. Burial with military honors will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Camp Point.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Clayton.

Memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society.
