Kathy Lynn Rosendale (Cook), 67, of Quincy, passed away at 7:57 pm Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.
A Funeral Ceremony will be at 2:00 pm Thursday, January 6, 2022, at the O'Donnell-Cookson Life Celebration Home in Quincy. Rev. Steve Disseler will officiate.
Friends and Family are invited to Kathy's Life Celebration at a visitation that will be Thursday from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at O'Donnell-Cookson Life Celebration Home in Quincy, IL.
Kathy was born January 12, 1954, in Quincy, IL to Robert G. and Mary E. (Lantz) Rosendale.
Survivors include her daughters, Tosha (Matthew) McHatton Davis of Quincy, IL and Trisha (Rosendale (Vonburg) of Quincy, IL; one brother, Kent (Karen) Rosendale of Quincy, IL; one sister, Janine Spurgeon of Emden, MO; and four grandchildren Dylan Mason, Brooklin Paris, Wanda Steele, and Zane Steele.
Kathy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Irene & Robert Rosendale, and Claudia & Harold Beckermeyer.
Kathy worked as a CNA at the Illinois Veterans Home then as a housekeeper for 20 years.
Kathy enjoyed spending her time outside in her garden. She grew a variety of vegetables including tomatoes and cucumbers. When Kathy wasn`t in her garden you could find her inside watching television. Her favorite things to watch were Fox News, Naked and Afraid, and Days of our Lives. If you had seen Kathy out and about it would at her favorite store Salvation Army Family Store, she was in there 2x a day those girls that worked there new her like family. Her favorite foods were tacos, fish, and vegetable soup. If she went out for dinner, you could bet on finding her at Best Buffet, Maid Rite, or Hooeys. Kathy also enjoyed growing flowers. Her favorite flowers to grow were the Cannas that attracted hummingbirds. She asked for a plant every spring from her daughters to watch grow on her porch. Her favorite was the Mandevillas they grew so big and beautiful. They gave her peace as she sat and watched her neighborhood. Above everything Kathy loved her family and relished in the time she spent with them.
Memorial contributions may be made to made out to her grandchildren.
Arrangements for cremation are under the direction of the O'Donnell-Cookson Life Celebration Home in Quincy, IL
