After many failed attempts, the Grim Reaper finally got her.
Kathy Ann "#1 B" Schneider, age 67, of Quincy, died in her home surrounded by loved ones on December 15, 2023, at 5:02 p.m. Kathy was born January 10, 1956, in Quincy, IL, the daughter of Chester and Joan (Spilker) Boden. She married Darrell Schneider on May 7, 1986, in Hannibal, MO.
Kathy attended Quincy Senior High School. She went on to have multiple professions, including home health care and escorting for Kathy's pilot and escort service.
Kathy spent the last seven years battling lymphoma. She spent the last two years doing treatment and took many photos during treatment with a smile and double middle fingers. Kathy was known for her amazing smile and her ability to feed a crowd. She loved hosting Easter and Thanksgiving dinners, along with an amazing Sunday breakfast. No one can make pancakes like Grammy did.
Kathy had a love for kids and was always willing to babysit. She took pride in the fact that her grandkids and great grandkids never went to daycare. She even went as far as babysitting while doing chemo treatment for the last two years.
Kathy had an amazing love for her grandkids and great grandkids. She could be found attending as many school functions, dance recitals, and choir/band concerts as possible. She loved her grandkids and great-grandkids and made sure each one knew they were her favorites. Hands down, we all knew the youngest was always the winner of the favorite based on her camera roll.
She is survived by two children, Tammy (James) Blair and Michael (Casey) Maas, all of Quincy.
She proudly raised two grandchildren as her own, Regina Schneider of Brattleboro, VT, and Rissa (Kyle) Schneider of Quincy.
