I just came across Larry,s obituary after many years of wondering what happened to him. I first met Larry at the Naval Amphibious Base in Coronado, Calif., where I received orders for Beach Jumper Unit 1. He met me at the gate to the base to escort me to my new quarters. I got to know Larry pretty well and even accompanied him to some track meets in San Diego. I received my orders and left for Viet Nam and when I returned back to base, Larry was discharged and I never saw him again but I had fond memories of the short time we shared.
