Michael Paul Bucklo, 82, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2025 at 5:35 p.m. at Trail Creek Place - Memory Care, Michigan City, Indiana.
A private celebration of life will be held. Burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery, Michigan City, Indiana. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington Street, Michigan City, IN is handling the arrangements.
He was born on May 4, 1943, in Quincy, Illinois, to the late Paul and Bernice C. (Brower) Bucklo. He married Harrietta (Ackerman) Bucklo, who preceded him in death October 18, 2017.
Surviving are his daughter, Michele Bucklo of Michigan City, Indiana; sister, Janet (Gary) Jacobs of Granbury, Texas; five grandchildren, Blake, Braden, Barrett, Bella, and Brent; lifelong best friend, Stan (Camille) Schardon of Dallas, Texas; and close friends, Michael and Rudy Conner of Chicago, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Hari.
Michael honorably served as Judge Advocate General in the Army Reserve Corps. He was a member of Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, Michigan City. Michael was a member of the Island Goats Sailing Society since 2002. With the sailing society, he sailed 25 races, sailing from Chicago to Mackinac Island. Also, he was a member of the Chicago Yacht Club. Michael graduated from Northwestern University with a Juris Doctor degree in law and also completed his engineering degree at Saint Louis University.
Michael was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Known for his unwavering kindness, unconditional love and loyalty, his many friends and family will remember his zest for life, quick wit, sense of humor and passion for sailing. Michael touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him and he will be deeply missed.
