Nancy Marquardt, age 87, of Quincy, died Friday, October 7, 2022, at 4:30 pm in Blessing Hospital.
Nancy was born October 3, 1935, in Quincy, Illinois, the daughter of Douglas and Marjorie Sprague Wells. She married Anthony Marquardt on April 23, 1955, in Quincy. He preceded her in death on March 8, 2003.
Nancy was a 1953 graduate of Quincy High School. She went on to attend Deaconess College of Nursing in St. Louis and later graduated from Gem City Business College in Quincy. She worked in various departments at Blessing Hospital, including x-ray, lab, and as a medical secretary. She went on to work at the private practice of both Dr. Brenner and Dr. Yu, as a medical secretary and in medical billing, respectively. In between all of this, she managed to take the time to raise her family. Being a mom was the highlight of her life. Nancy was a member of Salem Church and the Women's City Club. She was an avid bridge player and loved to shop. She also greatly enjoyed boating. Family trips to, and spending time on the water at Lake of the Ozarks were among her fondest memories. Most of all Nancy adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include: two daughters, Deborah (Doug) Olson and Susan Bennett, both of Quincy; six grandchildren, Brooke (Mike) Spring, Brett Olson, Christopher Bennett, Johnathan (Kaleigh) Marquardt, Shaun Marquardt, and Ashley Marquardt; four great grandchildren, Caroline and Olivia Spring, Logan Carver, and Myles Landes; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Anthony, Nancy was preceded in death by; her parents; a son, Jeffrey Marquardt; and a brother, Dick Wells.
Visitation: 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Thursday October 13, 2022, at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.
Services: 10:00 am Friday, October 14, 2022, in Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Disseler officiating. Burial will follow at Greenmount Cemetery.
Friends and family are invited continue the celebration of Nancy's life at the Women's City Club (Lorenzo Bull House) immediately following the burial.
