Raymond Dingerson Obituary

PAYSON, Ill. -- Raymond F. Dingerson, 73, of 562 E. 1325th St., Payson, died at 9:32 p.m. Friday (April 24, 2009) in the emergency room at Blessing Hospital. He was born Feb. 18, 1936, in Payson, a son of Carl and Margaret (Schnellbecker) Dingerson. He married Karel Dempsey on April 23, 1960, in St. Francis Catholic Church in Quincy. She survives. Raymond was a graduate of Payson Seymour High School. He was called into active duty by the United States Army National Guard from 1961-1962 during the Berlin Crisis. He was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of Payson F.F.A. Alumni and he was a former member of the National Farmers Organization. He enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play sports, and he enjoyed attending high school sporting events. In addition to his wife Karel, survivors include three daughters, Jami Bayes and her husband, Mike, of Belvidere, Lisa Quinn and her husband, Joe, of Payson and Jill Reffett and her husband, Chris, of Quincy; two brothers; five sisters; four grandchildren, Rachel Lowrance and her husband, Rob, of Belvidere, Kristina Bayes of Belvidere, Alexandria Quinn of Payson, and RayLee Grace Reffett of Quincy; a great-grandson due in May; and several nieces and nephews. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Mark David Dingerson in infancy; a sister; and a brother. SERVICES: 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Lee Reffett. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. VISITATION: 4-8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. MEMORIALS: Division of Specialized Care for Children (D.S.C.C.) through the University of Illinois, Chicago.
