Roberta A. "Bobbie" Marema

1950 - 2024

Roberta A. "Bobbie" (Peters/Biedron) Marema, age 74, of Quincy, IL, passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, December 1, 2024. She was born on April 26, 1950, in Chicago, IL, a daughter of loving parents John T. and Ellen (Lyons) Peters. She married her first love, Michael A. Biedron, who preceded her in death on November 17, 1976. She again found happiness in marriage with James G. Marema, who preceded her in death on January 2, 2008.

Bobbie graduated from Kelly High School in Chicago in 1968. She was a wife and stay-at-home mom and dedicated her life to her family.

Bobbie and her husband, Jim, lived in Florida for ten years, making the most of the warm weather. There, she enjoyed spending time with Jim's family and co-captaining the Women's Golf League. In 2007, she and Jim moved to Quincy, where she wholeheartedly embraced her role as Grandma. She was a good cook and baker and loved making meals for her family and friends. She had a heart full of love, which she shared generously with the people and animals in her life.

Later in life, Bobbie enjoyed spending time with dear friends doing water aerobics at the Kroc Center, playing Mahjong, and being a trivia buff, participating in local competitions.

Bobbie is survived by her children: Paula (Matt) Zanger of Quincy and Cheryl (James) Winkowski of Scottsdale, AZ. Grandchildren: twins, Jackson and Gabriel Zanger; and Lily Zanger, all of Quincy. Sisters: Geraldine "Gerri" Deriemaeker of St. Johns, FL and Ellen Biehl of Cicero, IL. Brother-in-law: Patrick (Peg) Biedron of Tinley Park, IL. Many loving nieces, nephews, and relatives also survive.

In addition to her husband, Jim, Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents and sister: Catherine (Bill) Maciejewski. Brothers-in-law: Duane Deriemaeker, Bernard "Bernie" Kokoszka, and Robert "Bobby" Biehl; and a sister-in-law: Frances (Bill Brundage) Biedron.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 13, at the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at noon.
