Sheila Dobbs Obituary

Sheila Ann Dobbs, 68, of 1533 Granview, Quincy, died at 9:50 p.m. Friday, March 18, 2016, at Sunset Home.

Sheila was born March 8, 1948, in Quincy, the daughter of Marvin "Pee Wee"and Margaret Simon Wolverton. She married Tom Dobbs in 1969 in Quincy.

Sheila was a graduate of Notre Dame High School, and she had attended John Wood Community College. She had worked as a both a librarian and a para-educator for both Baldwin and Adams schools. She also worked as a supervisor in the switchboard department for Illinois Bell.

In her spare time, Sheila enjoyed arts and crafts, particularly cross-stitch. She also enjoyed reading, planting flowers and baking, especially making cookies with her granddaughter, Emma.

Survivors include, three sons, Kim (Stephanie) Dobbs of Quincy, Kyle (Hannah Mixer) Dobbs of Quincy and Chad (Jenny Lewis) Dobbs of Seattle, Wash.; three grandchildren, Emma, Bonnie and Nick Dobbs; a brother, Mark Wolverton of Tulsa, Okla.; and three nephews, Erik, Aaron and Troy Aschemann.

Sheila was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Brandt and Chris Wolverton; and a sister, Cindy Aschemann.

SERVICES: 10 a.m. Thursday, March 24, at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park, Quincy.

VISITATION: 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.
