Tina Marie Huston, 62, of Keokuk, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois.
Tina was born on October 19, 1962, in Burlington, Iowa, the daughter of Marion Henry and Betty (Washburn) Nelson. On July 18, 1982, she was united in marriage to Samuel "Sam" Huston in Warsaw, Illinois. They were later divorced but remained close friends. She was employed at Methode and Subway, and later worked as a CNA and in home health for over twenty years until her health forced her to retire.
Tina enjoyed spending time with her friends at the Mississippi Terrace and eating at McDonalds on Tuesdays with her group. She also had a vast collection of angels. Tina was the definition of a feisty redhead and had a great and sarcastic personality. She was truly one-of-a-kind.
Tina is survived by two daughters: Rebecca Huston Sparrow of Warsaw, Illinois, and Robyn Huston Villegas of Keokuk; seven grandchildren: Maria (Kurt Steele) Sparrow of Keokuk, Ashlynn Sparrow of Quincy, Quinton Sparrow of Warsaw, Baylee Sparrow of Warsaw, Tai Villegas of Keokuk, Chloie Sutton of Keokuk and Izac Sutton of Keokuk; three brothers: Terry (Tami) Nelson and Rick Nelson, both of Keokuk, and Bill Winkle of Quincy; her sister Margaret Hudson of Arkansas; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Tina is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Joe Nelson and her son-in-law Brent Sparrow.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Printy Funeral Home, 917 Blondeau Street, Keokuk, Iowa. Visitation with viewing will be held on Saturday, July 26, from 11 am to 2 pm at the funeral home directly before the service.
