Virginia Siblerud Obituary

Virginia "Ginni" Siblerud , 79

Virginia "Ginni" Gaye (Loy) Siblerud passed away on February 7th, 2024. She was lovingly surrounded by her family when Jesus called her home. She was born to William (Bill) Loy and Ruby Loy on July 28,1944 in Kalispell, Montana and grew up in Whitefish, Montana where she enjoyed being a cheerleader in high school. Later, Ginni moved to Washington State to attend Pacific Lutheran University. In 1963 she was crowned Whitefish Winter Carnival Queen. She later moved to Spokane to study at Kinman Business University. Ginni met her husband Lonnie on a blind date in Kalispell in 1964 and they were married in Whitefish in 1965. Ginni worked in the banking industry while Lonnie finished his Pharmacy Degree in Missoula, Montana until their daughter Juleen was born in 1968. They then moved to Medford, Oregon where their second daughter Tammi was born in 1970. Later that year they moved to Spokane Valley, Washington where they lived for 54 years.

Ginni's lifelong passion was music. She sang in a trio in grade school through high school and in a choir in college. She taught Cherub (children's) Choir for 25 years and also directed a gospel group named Heaven Bound. She loved singing harmony during worship at church every Sunday, and her trio sang at the World's Fair in Seattle, Washington in 1962. Ginni also loved playing recreational volleyball, teaching aerobics, water skiing, snow skiing, and was teaching water aerobics in her neighbor's pool up until this past summer. She loved the water. Most of her summer weekends were spent at their place on Coeur d' Alene Lake when she and Lonnie were raising their girls. She looked forward to returning to Montana for yearly reunions to reconnect with family. She enjoyed traveling to many places over the years. Lonnie & Ginni were also youth leaders at Christ Lutheran Church. They experienced extraordinary joy and had so much fun as a couple during their 58-year marriage.

Ginni was highly active in her community and most notably enjoyed women's Bible studies, hosting home fellowship groups for 40 years, and loved playing Pinochle, Bunco, Hand & Foot (and Toe) and many other games with dear friends. She also loved flower gardening, cooking, baking and especially making Lefsa with her family. She was an amazing hostess to family and friends.

Ginni will always be remembered as kindhearted, friendly, and welcoming to all. She had a beautiful smile that reflected Christ within her.

Ginni was preceded in death by her sisters-in-law Judy Siblerud and Joyce Schmautz. She is survived by her husband Lonnie, daughters Juleen (Stuart) Vogelman, Tammi (Peter) Larson, grandsons Bennett, Daniel & Spencer Vogelman, and Elijah & Micah Larson. She is also survived by her brother Doug (Sandy) Loy and sister Julie (David) Grenrood and sisters-in-law Lu Ann (Bob) Borgen and Janet (John) Bustad, and brother-in-law Alan Schmautz and numerous nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday April 27, at 2:00 pm at Valley Bible Church, 3021 S. Sullivan Road, Spokane Valley, WA 99037.

With love my thoughts are cherishing Ginni in all the ways she reflected Christ. The warmth and love in her smile assured deep heart felt connection.
I am so grateful for blessings shared over the years. She lead my grown children in cherub choir. Lead me in Heart to Heart fellowship. Knowing her heart for the lord over the years of woman's Bible study was encouraging and beautiful and I'm especially thankful for the personal interaction we shared. I'm saddened to think I can not pick up the phone and call her but so grateful she is with the lord above all.
I pray over all the family for God's peace and leading into his arms while your heart aches missing her. May all the support you need be in abundance.

I´m so sorry for your loss of this amazing lady! I only met her a hand full of times but definitely felt her warmth during those visits out at the Lake.
She clearly passed down her beautiful & loving spirit through her daughter Juleen who is my connection to Ginni.
Prayers of comfort & peace in this hard season from all of the Seefelds. Love Nancy Seefeld

Heaven gained one of the sweetest angels! This world was definitely blessed with an extra special lady! Ginni was like a 2nd Mom to me while growing up with Juleen. I always felt loved and welcome in their home, and that was largely due to Ginni. My heart goes out to the entire family . May God bless each one of you and give you strength while walking through your grief.
Much love,
Lisa & Sherry Olson

My cousin Ginni was truly a child of God who showed the love of Christ in everything she did. She was loving and kind and tons of fun. The heavens are singing as they receive another angel.

We´ve always enjoyed our "Montana connection " with Ginni and Lonnie. Special memories include Ginni leading our kids in Cherub Choir, sun and pool time in our backyard and most notably, our annual lefse making day. "Olga" Laurie and "Lena" would put on the polka music, heat up the griddles and roll `em "tin". Ginni´s beautiful faith in Jesus and love of family shined through the twinkle in her eyes and her beautiful smile.

Ginni was a dear friend! I met her over 40 years ago and was blessed to be her friend ever since. She was part of a small group of friends called the Fabulous Four. We enjoyed each other's company and did a lot of things together. I was also part of the Hand, Foot & Toe group with Ginni, playing most Monday nights for the last several years.
One thing that wasn't mentioned in her obituary was her great love of going to garage sales. She scored numerous great finds over the years and we were always the beneficiaries of her finds at card nights.
I will miss her greatly! While our loss is her gain as she has joined her Savior, there is a big whole in our hearts. Goodbye for now but see you one day.

Ginni was one of my most favorite people. I have SO many memories of being on the lake a swinging by to see if you were all there. She would stand up on your balcony and wave down and Lonnie or the girls would run down to catch us and help us tie off on the dock and sit and visit for a while. Sometimes the day would pass and we wouldn´t even realize it. She was always one of the first ones to come and hug on me when we made it to Montana for the annual reunion. She was an absolute angel and so fitting she was involved with the children´s music program for so many years. She was one of a kind. Big hugs cousins, we hope to celebrate her life with you in April.

Ginny blessed my childhood 40+ years ago with her warmth and picking me up for choir practice in her family's van. I was a shy kid, she always made me feel welcome with her cheery smile and friendly conversation. Can't imagine how many lives she touched, countless people received the benefit of knowing a truly kind Christian woman.
