LEANNA SCHIPPER, 90, of Clinton, IA, formerly of Albany, IL, died Friday, February 21, 2025, at Bickford of Clinton.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday, February, 28, 2025, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at First Christian Reformed Church in Fulton, with Rev. Michael Hooker, pastor of First Christian Reformed Church, officiating. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Lusk Memorial Cemetery in Albany, IL. Memorials have been established to First Christian Reformed Church and Albany Fire Department.
Leanna was born January 24, 1935, in Elvira, IA, to William and Marie (Jacobson) Diesing. She attended Elvira schools and graduated in 1953 before continuing her education at Moline Public Hospital School of Nursing, where she graduated in 1956. On February 14, 1957, she married Leroy A. "Skip" Schipper in Charlotte, IA. They shared over 53 wonderful years together until Skip's passing on December 10, 2010. Leanna dedicated her career to caring for others, working for Dr. Chalian in Clinton, IA, and later at Wagner Pharmacy. She was a devoted member of First Christian Reformed Church in Fulton, IL, and actively participated in the Ladies Auxiliary at the Albany Fire Department. She also contributed to her community by volunteering at MercyOne in Clinton and the Albany Library. Leanna enjoyed bowling and participated in Tuesday's Ladies League for many years. She was also an avid golfer, a charter member of the Fulton Country Club, and a dedicated member of the Fulton Ladies Golf Association. Above all, she cherished time with her family and friends, especially attending her grandchildren's activities.
Survivors include two sons, Lynn (Kathleen) Schipper and Kurt (Tracie) Schipper both of Fulton, IL; four grandchildren, Kyle, Kraig and Kole Schipper and Emily Schipper; two sisters, Carlene (George) Lorenz of Downers Grove, IL and Billie Jean (Paul) Schwarz of Kansas City, MO; one sister-in-law, Eileen Schipper of Fulton, IL; five nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leroy; one sister, Bonnie Lou Edens; two brothers-in-law, Vernon and Kenneth Schipper.
