Brenda A. Conroy

1944 - 2016

Brenda Ann (Hajjar) Conroy, 72, of Acton, passed away at Emerson Hospital in Concord on December 26, 2016. Born in Lawrence on June 25, 1944, she was the daughter of late Edward and Selma Hajjar. Brenda spent many years working in the legal industry helping with estate planning issues at Woodman and Eaton, PC., then worked for many years in the banking industry in the commercial lending department of Middlesex Savings Bank. After retirement she became an active member and vice president of the Milldames, a Concord, MA social and volunteer organization with emphasis on awarding high school scholarships. Brenda was very social and exuded happiness. She greeted every day with optimism and every person with a smile. Even her workplace colleagues said she made every day feel like it was a party. where each guest felt like they were the most important person in the room. Family was a huge priority; she was a loving wife and devoted mother. Brenda cherished her grandchildren, their interests were the most important part of her life. She recently took up knitting as a way to make personal gifts for the ones she loved. She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Peter P. Conroy; their daughter, Cindy OKane and her husband Mike of Great Falls, VA; a sister Beverly McGowan of Palm Coast, FL and 2 granddaughters, Shannon and Meaghan OKane. Visiting hours are Friday, Dec. 30th 5-8pm at the Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Ave (Rte 111) Acton. The funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, December 31st at 10am in Saint Elizabeth of Hungary Church, 89 Arlington St., Acton. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Concord Road, Acton Center. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Brenda may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148.
