Lillian Falk Obituary

Lillian Higgins Falk passed away peacefully on January 8, 2011 surrounded by many of her loving family members. She was ninety years old and still quite beautiful. Lillian was born on October 31, 1920 in Watertown, MA and raised by her father, Malcolm E. and mother, Bennett Price Woodland in a large family including 6 brothers and 2 sisters. Lillian was predeceased by her first husband of 26 years, Richard D L Higgins, and her second husband of 36 years, Ben Falk and her first son, Richard D L Higgins Jr. of Orleans. Lillian is survived by 6 of her remaining children and step-children: Faye Chidester, Lowell Higgins, Kathy ODay, Sherry Higgins, and step-son and daughter Stephen and Bonny Falk as well as 20 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. (Sixty-seven in all.) She is also survived by her brother, Richard Woodland of Orleans. Lillian believed in family and loved, supported and defended hers as patriots do their countries. She knitted and embroidered beautifully, she laughed easily and she loved greatly. She watched each of us through beautiful clear blue eyes. One could say she knitted us all together with her wisdom, her vigilance and her love. We will miss her terribly. Her funeral service will be held on Friday, January 14, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Federated Church of Orleans, 162 Main Street, E. Orleans, MA, followed by her burial in Orleans Cemetery, Orleans, MA. In lieu of flower please send contributions to Life Choice Care and Comfort 15 Cape Lane, Brewster, Ma 02631. For online condolences and directions, please visit www.nickersonfunerals.com
