Norma Graham Obituary

Norma P. (Fraser) Graham 80, of Cambridge passed away Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010. Wife of the late Edward J. Graham. Beloved mother of Karen Shipley of Malden, Laura Walsh of Rockland, Maureen Graham of Pembroke, Elaine Marshall of Tewksbury, Edward of Connecticut, Stephen of Plymouth. Loving grandmother to Brianne and Amanda Walsh, Taylor and Alexander Marshall, JoEllyn Shipley and Ronda Cann; also survived by four great-grandchildren. Norma was born, raised and educated in Somerville and was the daughter of the late Norman Fraser and Grace (Carr). As a young woman Mrs. Graham worked as an accountant for the T.D. Whitney Company in Boston. She later married and started her family eventually raising her six children. She embraced her role as a homemaker and mother and took great pride as a strong role model for her family. Following the raising of her family Norma went back to work outside her home for many years for the former Fanny Farmer Company then located in Fresh Pond in Cambridge. Here Norma flourished allowing her to use her pleasant and wonderful social nature to add sparkle to the customers she served. She will be remembered for the love of her more than 60-year Cambridge community; her loving, vivacious, and social nature. One who appreciated her dear friends both old and new and valued the love those relationships provided her. Visitation was in the Keefe Funeral Home, 2175 Mass Ave., North Cambridge, Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010, 2-5 p.m. A funeral home service followed, at 5 p.m. Cremation followed. In memory of Norma the family would prefer donations to SCM Community Transportation, 167 Holland St., Somerville MA 02144. For online donations www.scmtransportation.org.
