David O'Halloran Obituary

David P. O'Halloran Passed away here in Santa Fe after a brief illness while residing with his family. David was born in 1923 in Limerick, Ireland, to William and Hanoria O'Halloran. His family migrated to Brooklyn USA in 1926. He is preceded in death by his wife, Robenette Philips O'Halloran; sister, Peggy; and brother, Tom. He is survived by his sister, Elizabeth Ross; brothers: James, and Bill O'Halloran; sons: Timothy P. O'Halloran and David. W. O'Halloran; daughters: Denise O'Halloran, Veronica O'Halloran; son-in-law, Joe Bisagna. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren: Kerry Spaulding, Danny Spaulding, Robenette Toto, Joseph Bisagna, Jeramie Bisagna, and Maryrose Bisagna; along with numerous nieces and nephews, especially those of the Ross and McCann families. After his family moved to South Queens in NY, he began a long and successful career in the Railroad industry beginning as a fireman on locomotives, to becoming the "Rock" engineer for Amtrak on the eastern seaboard. As with many other of the "greatest generation," David's career was interrupted willingly by joining the Army during WWII from 1942-1947. He served in 82 Airborne 508 Division. He was a decorated Paratrooper in the Liberation of France in the Normandy Invasion, for which he received the Bronze Star and the Battle of the Bulge. Funeral will take place in NY and final interment will be in Pinelawn National Cemetery, NY. The O'Halloran-Bisagna family would like to express their gratitude to IMS Medical Office, especially Dr. Josh Brown and staff; St. Vincent Hospital staff, especially the medical-surgical units; Women Services; and Heritage Home Care, especially our "Angel Jeannie"; the Eldorado and "Quik Send" Community for all your care, kindness, and support. A Memorial Service here in Santa Fe will be arranged in mid-September. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the USO Organization or the Disabled Veterans Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Berardinelli Family Funeral Service 1399 Luisa Street Santa Fe, NM 87505 (505) 984-8600
