Lucy J. Rice

Lucy J. Rice, 76, of Carver, died Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center | Plymouth. She was the wife of Samuel J. Rice. Born in Needham, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Gladys (Boardman) Baker. She lived in Holliston for many years before moving to Carver in 1980. Mrs. Rice was a nutritionist expert and worked as a civilian employee for the Natick Army Labs. After moving to Carver, Mrs. Rice, along with her husband, operated the Carver Animal Clinic where she was an integral part of the day to day operation. She is survived by her husband, Samuel J. Rice, and her son, Timothy Rice of Lexington, K.Y. She was predeceased by her brothers, the late George Baker and Herbert Baker. Her funeral service held on Monday, Oct. 15, 2018 at the Chapman, Cole and Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Rte. 28), Wareham at 10 a,n. Relatives and friends invited to visit from 9 to 10 a.m. prior to the service. Interment in Agawam Cemetery, Wareham.
