Eric Schultz

Eric Thomas Schultz of Zumbrota, MN, died suddenly on Friday, January 10, 2014 in Palm Springs, CA. Eric was a 1979 graduate of Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School Born on May 9, 1961 in Syracuse, NY to Thomas and Bonnie (nee Romness) Schultz, Eric spent his youth in California and New Jersey, before moving to Hamilton, Massachusetts 1971. He studied engineering at Southeastern Massachusetts University and went to work at Keane Incorporated in 1988 in personnel. Eric transferred to Rochester, MN in 1989 to lead the establishment of a Keane Inc office there. He wed Amy Hansen on May 22nd, 1997 and graduated from St Mary's University in Rochester, MN in 2009 with a degree in Human Resource Management. Eric enjoyed scuba diving and was an instructor for New England Divers in Beverly, MA. For enjoyment, he worked on lobster boats, shot in rifle range competitions, was an avid fisherman, camped, tended to animals on his farm, and helped backstage at the local dance studio productions. He was a member of HRMS (Human Resources Management System), St Mary's University Alumni, Men's prayer breakfast at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce, and Toastmasters. He was passionate about playing guitar and was a trivia champion concerning Rock and Roll music. Eric is survived by his wife, Amy Hansen; children, Travis Hansen and Christina Hansen; father, Thomas Schultz of Jacksonville, Florida; brother, Greg Schultz of Amesbury, MA; sister, Laurie Demma of La Honda, California; and father and mother-in-law, Neil and Marlys Brown of Oronoco. Eric was preceded in death by his mother , Bonnie, who passed in 2007. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Eric T Schultz Trust at the Bank of Zumbrota, PO Box 8, Zumbrota, MN 55992.
