Grace Farina Obituary

Grace A. (Lewis) Farina, 85, wife of the late Anthony P. Farina, died Saturday afternoon, Feb. 27, 2010, in the Brigham Manor Nursing Home in Newburyport, surrounded by her large and loving family after a long illness. Born in Chelsea on October 19, 1924 she was the daughter of the late James Henry II and Annie Frances (McQueeney) Lewis. She was a graduate of Chelsea High School. Mrs. Farina had been a resident of Ipswich since 1956 in the same home that her husband had built. She enjoyed cooking the traditional Sunday dinner with her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Farina also enjoyed: homemade crafts, reading and crocheting. She was predeceased by her husband Anthony on June 21, 2006. Mrs. Farina's family would like to thank the staff at the Brigham Manor Nursing Home in Newburyport for their exceptional care of their mother. Mrs. Farina is survived by her six children and their spouses: Linda and Henry Wright of Ipswich, Brian Farina of Beverly, Richard Farina also of Ipswich, Dianne and Tom Antone of Newburyport, Donna Farina of Ipswich, Toni and Rob Riddle also of Ipswich. She is also survived by her 12 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Farina was also predeceased by her son Kevin Farina formerly of Florida and by her eight brothers and sisters; she was the youngest of nine children. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, March 4, at 9 a.m., at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church Linebrook Road, Ipswich. Burial will be in the Cowles Memorial Cemetery 29 Town Farm Road, Ipswich. Visiting hours were Wednesday, March 3, from 5-8 p.m., in the Morris Funeral Home, 45 North Main St., Ipswich, relatives and friends were respectfully invited. Words can never completely heal the hurt you are all feeling with the loss of your Mother and Grandmother. You are an unbelievably wonderful and close family, I have known most of you for over 45 years and have watched your beautiful families continue to grow over the years.
