I dated Betty's son Mike very briefly during college in the early 80s. However, she left a lasting impression with her spirit and kindness, which I have reflected on throughout the years. My heartfelt condolences go out to Betty's family.

Bette was a treasured friend for almost 40 years, bringing light and laughter and wisdom and just a touch of drama to my world. I was stunned to learn if her passing, and did so only because I was worried she hadn't returned my calls. I am sure there are many like me who either don't know yet or would want a chance to celebrate her life with others who loved her dearly. If anyone reading this knows whether something is already in the works, please let me know. [email protected]

Betty excelled in whatever she did, teaching tennis at the club, gardening, furnishing her home and apartment, writing articles for the local paper, leading our book group discussions, and especially in ACTING. She was a good role model for surviving hard times and going on to enjoy life. I will miss her.

Betty was a good friend and neighbor. She had a beautiful garden which I often admired. Considering the tragedy of her son's death, she adjusted well. Not an easy thing. My best to Janet and Michael
