Murrells Inlet, SC
Eddie S. Velez, 40 of Murrells Inlet died Thursday, May 1, 2014 at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Born in Manhattan, NY, he was the son of Cathie Hayes and the late Charles J. Sprague, Jr. He was a contractor with Spann Roofing. Eddie was an enthusiastic NY Giants fan who loved to fish, golf, laugh and dance. His courageous generous heart and broad smile were a light to all around him. He stands in the presence of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Surviving in addition to his mother of Kernersville, NC are his loving wife, Tera Velez and his children, Sydney, Nicholas and Alie Velez all of Murrells Inlet.
Services will be 4:00 PM, Monday at Christ Church, 310 Prince Creek Parkway, Murrells Inlet. The family will receive friends following the services at the church.

I was lucky to have gotten to know Eddie through work. He was such a wonderful person and will be dearly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

We were so blessed to know Eddie. God's Grace continuously shone in him.
Psalm 18 says "I will love thee O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust". Our family has been and will continue to pray for you, Sydney, Nick and Alie.

I worked with Eddie at Spann. Eddie was not only a "good" guy but was a "great" guy--always pleasant and with a smile.
Glad I got to visit him a month or so ago at his home.
Grateful he is no longer suffering!

Tera, I was heartbroken to hear of Eddie's passing. You all have been in my prayers and thoughts for so long.
