Robert P. Steinmann

Robert P. Steinmann, of Brewster, formerly of Acton and Concord, passed away peacefully at his home in Chelmsford on June 19, 2021, just two days shy of his 80th birthday. A West Concord native, Bob graduated from Concord High School in 1959. From a daily paper route of 90+ customers as a young boy to an after-school and summer job at Blackburn Printing, Bob was always a hard worker. His work in the field of printing continued at Barker Press in Watertown after his high school graduation, and then as a partner with Rene DuBerger at Minuteman Press, later to be incorporated as Minute-Man Printing Corporation with his brother Joseph in 1967. They moved the business to West Concord in 1975, and it is still family-run to this day. Bob retired in 2000, moving to Brewster on Cape Cod. Despite physical challenges, Bob maintained a positive attitude throughout his life and always felt his cup was more than half full. Bob always wanted to own his own business and to go home for lunch every day. He accomplished both. Bob is a former member of the Rotary Club of Concord and the All Citizens Access Committee of Brewster. Bob was a longtime parishioner at Our Lady of the Cape Parish in Brewster. He will be remembered lovingly by his wife of 54 years, Maureen (Dee), and his children: James and his wife Lois of Rindge, NH, Tracy and her husband Pat Culkins of Lancaster also John and his wife Heather of Pepperell, and Kathleen and her husband Martin Hannon of Chelmsford; eight grandchildren: Chris Grant, Rachel, Courtney, Joel, and Jason Culkins, Taylor and Jake Steinmann, and Connor Hannon; and his brother J. Barry Steinmann and his wife Irene of Lunenburg, MA. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Rita (Bent) and his brother, Joseph, Jr. A very special, heartfelt thank you to Dr. Russell Butler, not only Bobs neurologist for thirty-nine years but also a friend. His care and compassion for both Bob and the family during these past few weeks was extraordinary and beyond words. Relatives and friends will celebrate Bobs life during a Funeral Mass on Saturday, August 7th at 10 am in Holy Family Parish, Monument Square, Concord Center, followed by interment at St. Bernards Cemetery in Concord. There will be no visiting hours.
