Peter M. Carter

Peter M. Carter, 79, of Onset, formerly of Natick, died Friday, December 2, 2016 at his home in Onset after a long battle with cancer. His daughter and granddaughter were by his side. He was the husband of the late Judith A. (Collins) Carter. Born and raised in Wellesley, he was the son of the late Manford J. and Kathleen (Watkins) Carter. Mr. Carter worked for 34 years for the Town of Wellesley Municipal Light Plant. A long-term resident of Natick and Mendon, he moved to Onset three years ago. Mr. Carter served as a tank crewman in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1955 to 1958. He enjoyed spending his summers in Kennebunk, Maine where he found joy in relaxing by the sea. He is survived by his daughter, Kristin Chase of Onset; his sons, Michael D. Carter of Millville and Jeffrey Carter of Marlboro; his grandchildren, Samantha Chase, Jen na Chase, Michael Carter and Melissa Carter and his great grandsons, Logan Carter and Declan Carter. Funeral services will be private.
