Gregory Thornton Obituary

Gregory S. Thornton, 52, formally of Hingham MA, died suddenly on Monday, Nov. 14, 2011 in Reno, NV. Born in Fayetteville, NY on July 7, 1959, he was the son of the late Kathleen H. Thornton and Robert J. Thornton and stepson to his wife Jo Anne of La Jolla, CA. In addition he leaves his siblings, Robert Thornton of Stoughton, MA, James Thornton of Utah, Kathleen T. Walsh of Weymouth, MA, Sarah T. Frey of Providence, RI, Julie T.Harrington of Bourne, MA. Shaunah T. Connors of Point St. Lucie, FL., Susan T. Russell of Hingham, MA and stepbrother Gavin Rhodes of Brooklyn, NY. Greg was a passionate dirt biker, hunter and loved the outdoors. He was a graduate of Wentworth Institute of Tech. and Hingham High, class of 1978. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on May18, 2012 at Resurrection Parish, Hingham, MA. Burial to follow at Hingham Cemetery, and reception at Church. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. In lieu of flowers, donations in Greg's name may be made to Father Bill's, 38 Broad St., Quincy, MA 02169.
