Judith Forker Obituary

Judith Edison Forker was born Oct. 4, 1945, to Marion and Richard Edison. Despite her tremendous strength and unfailing perseverance, she lost her battle with cancer June 8, 2014. She is survived by her husband, Lee R. Forker Jr. (Hingham); and her two children, Amy Schneider (South Berwick, ME) and Rob Forker (Boston). Judy was extremely close to her two sisters, Sarah Knapp Manus (Grand Rapids, MI) and Ann Watson Walz (Naperville, IL). Additionally, Judy shared many amazing moments with her five beloved grandchildren. Judy was born and raised in Fostoria, OH, received her BA from the University of Michigan in 1967, and earned a Masters in Education from Boston University. After teaching elementary school in Milton, she was married in 1969. Committed to family above all else, she stopped teaching when she had children and then devoted her professional life to managing her husbands investment counseling firm for over twenty five years until retirement. Characterized by remarkable vibrancy, generosity, and integrity, she was a force of positive energy for her numerous friends. A resident of Hingham for nearly forty years, her interests were far-reaching and impactful, including: gourmet cooking, gardening, golfing, skiing, bridge, book club, and Wednesday night dinners at the Hingham Yacht Club. Judys love of family and the premium she placed on relationships stood above everything in her life. Family trips, numerous trips to Bordeaux, dinners with friends, days spent by her pool and nights in front of the fireplace were the moments that left her most deeply contented. A memorial service was held at Trinity Church in Boston Friday, June 13, 2014, at 3 p.m. Donations may be sent either to Trinity Church, 206 Clarendon St., Boston, MA 02116, or NVNA & Hospice, 120 Longwater Drive, Norwell, MA 02061, where all proceeds will directly benefit the Pat Roche Hospice Home in Hingham. "Lovely" is the word that comes to my mind when I remember Judy.I so enjoyed working in her garden with her and will have her in my heart always.

Dear Lee,
I was so sad to read about Judy and your loss. Even though we have not been in contact for many years, I so enjoyed the short time I worked with Judy on her garden. She was such a lovely person.

Words cannot express how sad I am. Judy played such a huge role in my childhood and I have fond memories of weekends by the pool and the time the whole Forker clan (including Abby) got snowed in at our house.

Much love to everyone.
