Louisa Rogers Obituary

After 25 years of battling chronic illnesses, Louisa Worthington Rogers passed away peacefully in South Shore Hospital, South Weymouth MA on April 17th, 2018. After a distinguished career in Bioinformatics, she retired from MIT Science Library as a senior Biology, Medicine and Neuroscience Librarian in 2008. She was an active member of the Hingham Historical Society as well as the Hingham Ladies Club. She is survived by her husband David C. D. Rogers of Hingham MA, sisters Helen C. Jones of Baltimore MD and Katharine Cobert of Jessup MD. Her brother, L. Allan Jones, predeceased her. In addition, she is survived by her godson Alexi Pfeffer- Gillett of San Diego CA and goddaughters Catherine Coursen of Dripping Springs TX and Nell Baker of Boston MA as well as seven stepchildren, eleven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. In accordance with her wishes, she will be buried in Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge Ma. A celebration of life will be planned for July 2018
