Maureen F. LaPlaca

Maureen F. (McNally) LaPlaca, of Holbrook, passed away unexpectedly April 7, at the age of 65. Born in Boston, Maureen was raised and educated in Jamaica Plain and was a Holbrook resident for 37 years. She was known as Miss Maureen to her students at Childrens Corner in Holbrook, where she worked as a preschool teacher. Maureen enjoyed bingo and playing cards with family and friends. She was the beloved wife for 46 years of George LaPlaca; loving mother of Michael LaPlaca and his wife Cindy of NJ, Michelle Kenny of Holbrook, and the late Kara LaPlaca; devoted sister of Darleen Rolfs, Marion McNally, Joann Woodford, Catherine Amerault, Brian McNally, and the late Sandra Raphael and Robert McNally; dear grandmother of Taylor, Alexis, Kylie, Jake, Joseph, Hayley, and Kayla; and great-grandmother of Madison. Funeral from the Hurley Funeral Home, 127 So. Franklin St. (Rte. 37), Holbrook, Saturday, April 11, at 9:15 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass at St. Josephs Church, Holbrook, at 10 a.m. Visiting hours were Friday 4-8 p.m. Interment Union Cemetery, Holbrook.
