Katie Cassidy Obituary

Katie Cassidy took her journey to be with her Lord on Dec. 26, 2011, after a wonderful Christmas Day with her loving family. Katie was the beloved daughter of Karen and Dr. Kevin Cassidy of Kingston; and beloved sister of Melissa Cassidy of Philadelphia and David Cassidy of Myrtle Beach, S.C. She was predeceased by her loving grandparents, Carl D. Wanamaker, Doris J. Wanamaker and John C. Cassidy. Katie is also survived by her loving grandmother, Mrs. Milanne Cassidy of Hatfield, Pa.; and her aunts, Mrs. Cyndi Lovas, Ms. Jill Cassidy and Mrs. Barbara Smith also of Pennsylvania. Katie is survived by three cousins, Abigail Ellis and Daniel and Kimberly Smith. Katie was a student at South Shore Collaborative and attended First Baptist Church in Duxbury. Katies effect on the world cannot be sufficiently described in any amount of words. With such beautiful eyes and such an infectious smile, it was virtually impossible to come away unaffected and unchanged from an interaction with Katie. Her loving heart and gracious spirit shone through every smile and giggle. The stories of how Katie changed lives without speaking a single word could overflow an ocean. Its undeniable that she will continue to move, change and inspire hearts for lifetimes to come. A service was held Dec. 29, at First Baptist Church. A private graveside service will be held Friday, Dec. 30, at the Topton Union Cemetery in Topton, Pa. Officiating will be Dr. Jay Lowder, Pastor of Christian Education at the First Baptist Church in Duxbury.

Kevin, Karen, Melissa and Dave.....
Our prayers are with you all during this very difficult time. Katie was such a sweet, special girl. I will always treasure the times I had the opportunity to babysit her. Her smile and laughter spoke volumes. It's comforting to think of her singing in heaven.....completely whole....with the angels. We love you all and will continue to pray for comfort and peace.

Pastor, Karen, Melissa, and David, my heartfelt sympathy flows your way. I still remember cuddling her in the nursery as a baby. She was always so sweet. May the thought of her now, fully functional, able to move and speak freely, and walking face to face and side by side with Jesus Himself, comfort and encourage you as you wait to see her again. I am sorry for your loss, but grateful for her freedom. Love and comfort to you all...
