Dear Christine and Tom:
I only recently learned of Mike's passing, and I cannot tell you how terrible I feel. We attended Stonehill College together, but I am sad to say that I fell out of touch with him over the years. He was a genuinely kind-hearted person, who, in all the years that I knew him, always thought of others ahead of himself. Always.
It did not surprise me at all to learn that Mike spent his career helping individuals with disabilities. I could not imagine him doing anything else.
There should be more people like Mike in the world, and the world is certainly a lesser place now that he is gone. God bless and take care of each other.

Truly sad to hear of Michael's passing, we had reconnected some years ago on fb. We grew up together in Duxbury, and have great memories of us all playing together with the Caldera's, and the entire neighborhood on Franklin Terrace.
May he rest in peace, and your family take comfort in happy memories you had together with him.

Michael was my boss at NEVDS for 2 years and he was such an amazing man .. he was always there for me and wanted the best for me. He used to say I was like the daughter he never had.. I will miss him so much.. my heart is truly broken and my prayers go out to his wife and family..

Dear Christine and Burke family, so very sorry to hear of Michael's passing. I worked with him at NEVDS and he was a kind and compassionate man. I know he struggled medically and when I was ill with cancer, he was very supportive. I wish you comfort and peace. He is in Heaven free of illness. Take care. With sincere and deepest sympathy, Rhonda

I just heard of Michael's passing and can't tell you how badly I feel. Michael and I worked together for four years and I always knew I could talk to Michael when things weren't going well. He was there.
