Michael Andrew Po died on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Brigham and Womens Hospital in Boston, surrounded by his family and friends, following a long and valiant battle with cancer. He was 59 years old. Michael was born in Plymouth, Massachusetts on November 16, 1958 to William E. and Rose A. (McGoff) Po. He was raised in Kingston, Massachusetts and graduated from the Sacred Heart School. He earned a Bachelors degree in 1980 and a Masters degree in 1982 in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. At the University of Massachusetts, Michael met the love of his life, Susan Turner. They were married on June 12, 1982 at Our Lady of Mercy church in Belmont, MA. Together they raised three sons, Nathan, Cameron, and Daniel. Michaels work as an engineer and later as an entrepreneur took him and Susan to many destinations around the United States: Wichita Falls, Texas; Tracy, California; Los Gatos, California, Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania; North Andover, Massachusetts, and finally, Ipswich, Massachusetts. Michaels employment in the later years of his career included extensive international travel to Great Britain, The Netherlands and China. Michael had many hobbies; his favorite pastime was fishing. He owned a boat and enjoyed taking family and friends out on the water. He was a fan of the New England Patriots and attended many of their games. He also served as Chairman of the Board of his alma mater, the Sacred Heart School, from 2012 to 2016. Michael will be greatly miss- ed by his family and many friends. He is survived by his beloved wife, Susan; his sons, Nathan, Cameron, and Daniel; his mother Rose (McGoff) Po; aunts Robin McGoff and Mary Louise Watson; cousins Jim and Tom Watson; sister-in-law Emily Turner DeLuca and brother-in-law Michael DeLuca of Burlington, Massachusetts; sister-in-law Lynne Amand Turner and brother-in-law Benjamin Turner of Barrington, Rhode Island; and nieces and nephews C.J. DeLuca, David DeLuca, Sumner Turner, and Elesa Turner. A Mass of Christian burial was held at Our Lady of Hope Church in Ipswich, Massachusetts. A Mass of Remembrance will be held at Saint Joseph Parish in Kingston, Massachusetts on December 29th at 4:00pm.
