I was only lucky enough to know Katie for three years at Diamond MS. She exuded fun, warmth, and a caring nature. She didn't care one bit whether you were the most popular kid in the school or the least. She was real and honest and most of all kind to every single person she came across. How many of us can say that as adults let alone at age 11 or 12. Those who left messages here before me captured her wonderful spirit. She will be greatly missed and remembered fondly including by those who only knew her a short time.

I met Katie this past year through the Hosebees hockey team, but even that short weekly glimpse of her you could see she enjoyed life and enjoyed the people and family that were part of it. You have my deepest sympathies, and I am sure you will miss her for the rest of your lives, and if I could grant a wish for you from this point forward, it is that all the good memories willl be there for you to overpower all moments of grief.

I am so sorry to hear of Katie's passing. I was so very fortunate to be her ice hockey coach at Bowdoin College when I served as the interim head coach in the late 90s. She was the picture of passion, dedication and determination that I can still visualize to this day. She was a shooting star who impacted the lives of her family, friends and former teammates in ways they will always remember. My sincere condolences to her family and all who were a part of her life. She will be missed, but never forgotten!

I am deeply shocked and saddened to learn of Katie's sudden passing. She was a smart and wonderful student of mine, a devoted sister, and an exemplary daughter to my good friend and teacher colleague, her mom Janice, and her dad. My deepest sympathies to the entire family.

Dear Collin and Whittemore families,

I am so saddened to hear this news of Katie's passing. I was a good friend of Katie's during elementary and middle school, and I have such fond memories of the time that we shared together. Her twinkling kind eyes, joyful and contagious laugh, and fun-loving nature are still fresh in my mind. I could tell right away when I met her that Katie was a deeply good, kind person. I loved that she knew how to have fun, sometimes with a little dose of mischief. She was a wonderful soul and I feel lucky to have known her. I am so sorry for your tragic loss, and I am thinking of you all during this very difficult time.

Fraser, our thoughts go out to you and your kids. The two of you built a beautiful life, and I'm sure her too-soon departure from our world leaves a massive hole in your hearts, and I hope your wonderful memories of Katie will bring you some peace over time.

We learned with great sorrow of Katie's most untimely passing. Though it has been many years since that day when our family first arrived on Somerset Road, we fondly remember how delighted we felt upon finding Katie at our door, and how warmly she welcomed Alison to the neighborhood. That they became fast friends was always a joy for us as we watched them grow, eventually go their own ways, but continue to remain in touch. Our family grieves at your profound loss.

My heart is completely broken at the sudden loss of my dear friend Katie. Truly one of the most wonderful, caring, fun, witty and beautiful people I've met. She lived for Fraser and the children and her family. I will cherish the many memories I have since meeting her soon after starting law school together in 2002. We became fast friends and those years - with our entire group - are some of the best of my life. From all being together on Myrtle Street, to girls trips to Katie's dear family's homes in Key West and Nantucket, to simple lunches and study sessions in the cafeteria. We had so much fun - so much laughter - and it only continued after law school. Katie's beautiful marriage to Fraser. More weddings and happy times for friends. Babies. More fun girls trips even when life got busy. The laughter and joy continued. It was just at the end of March that all of us girls got together for Lauren's 40th festivities. We danced - we sang - we laughed - we celebrated Lauren and friendship. I will keep dancing and singing for you my dear friend and will live my life better and more joyously having had the distinct honor of knowing you and calling you my dear friend. And we will do whatever we can to support Fraser and the children and your family during this excruciatingly painful time. You passed far far too soon my friend, but your light and spirit will carry on in all that loved and adored you. With all my love and deepest sympathy, Elizabeth Crowley
