Loretta Wesley Obituary

Loretta Marie (Young) Wesley, 65, of Maynard, died February 10th, 2021 in Concord after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of Mark R. Wesley to whom she was married for fortythree years. Born in Concord and raised in Acton, she was the daughter of the late Henry McDermott Young and Helen Marie (Todisco) Young. A Maynard resident since 1980, Loretta was an enthusiastic supporter of her children's participation in sports and scouting programs. She especially enjoyed time with her husband, family and friends at their summer place in Scarborough, Maine. Loretta loved to garden and created beautiful summer plantings both at home in Maynard and at the summer retreat in Scarborough. In addition to her husband, Loretta is survived by their two children: Ellen and husband Patrick McDonnell of Acton and Adam Wesley and girlfriend Natalie Kendall of Newton, her siblings: Paul Young of Acton, David and wife Debra (Davies) Young, British Columbia, Canada; Barbara Young of Maynard, Martha (Young) and husband Vincent Wolff, Mountain View, CA; Diane (Young) and spouse, Kevin Reeds of Annapolis, MD. She was predeceased by her brother Michael Young late of Redding, CA. Loretta is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and she always took great joy in following their accomplishments, aspirations and important life events. Loretta was one of the first people that I met at Lincoln Laboratory over 30 years ago. She dealt with the many eccentric personalities in a humourous way that was very effective. I will miss her. My condolences to Mark and the rest of her family.

I have known and worked with Loretta for over 40 years since I first came to the laboratory. She was always kind, helpful and always had that smile on her face. I will truly miss her, and be thinking of Mark, Ellen and all of her family during these difficult times.

I have worked in the Travel Office at Lincoln Lab for 35 years, I so loved talking to Loretta over the years. I especially loved bumping into her in the hall or walking into work in the morning. Her smile and laughter just made my day. May god bless you all! and especially my smiling friend.

Sincerely,
John Waite

So sorry for your loss. In the mid 80's, Loretta and I worked together daily for a decade. She was a great coworker and made coming to work fun. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family.
