Max ABBOTT Obituary

ABBOTT, Max Edward
May 3, 1982 - July 28, 2010
Cherished and loving son of Richard and Dixie Abbott; dear brother of Allison Abbott; caring grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend. Max was born and lived his life in Sacramento. He attended local schools and most recently completed his junior year at CSUS as a psychology major. He was a talented writer and artist, an outstanding gourmet cook and candy maker, an accomplished woodworker, a non-judgmental observer of human nature, an occasional mischievous prankster, an enthusiastic adventurer, a generous friend, and a gentleman. Max was predeceased by his grandfathers, Todd Chappell and Aaron Abbott. In addition to his parents and sister, he is survived by his grandmothers Naomi Chappell and Kathryn Abbott; uncles and aunts Mitchell and Mary Abbott, Janette and Bill Fulcher, and Mary and Leo Black; cousins Nate Black, Mike Abbott, Todd Black, Sperry Fulcher, Erika Gretler, and Monique Fulcher; special friend Briana Burnette; numerous extended family members and friends; and fond acquaintances in the community as well as abroad. Because of limited space at the selected venue, Max's memorial service was held privately. The family extends its thanks to all who were a part of Max's life and welcomes messages, which can be sent to Rich and Dixie at [email protected]; to Nate at [email protected]; or Briana at [email protected]. Anyone wishing to make a memorial contribution in Max's name can contact the League to Save Lake Tahoe (Keep Tahoe Blue) at (530) 541-5388; American Red Cross (Sacramento Sierra) at (916) 993-7081; or American River Natural History Association at (916) 489-4918, ext. 238.

I am so sorry to read of Max's passing. I was one of his journalism instructors at American River College. What a star he was at The Current! He and Briana were so good together. Sending you blessings during the holidays and always.

Dixie, I don't know if this will still reach you, but I do want you to know that I love you and my heart aches for you and your family. It is obvious that Max was a great person with a wonderful life.

It's a terrible thing to lose one so young and promising. I didn't know your young man, but please accept my deepest sympathy. Virginia E/Sacramento
