I just read the sad news. Tom was a great friend during our college years at Antioch. We made a lot of mischief together and I am proud to have known him. Tom had great talents and a wonderful sense of humor. My deepest condolences to his family. We lost a very special guy.

The print version of this notice in the Boston Globe must have been placed by Tom- right in the center of the page, the one picture that caught your eye immediately.

To all the Monahans. I am truly sorry for your loss. Tom was a bigger than life and an incredible wit. I am sure you will remember him through laughter, song and a few end tables. He was a great guy and I am sorry for you loss. God Bless.

At this point, you may wish to get off the computer, stretch yr legs, grab a sizable rock in each hand, & walk several miles, frowning at importunate strangers. Then you'll feel as if Tom is walking with you; see you there. ~ with love, Kate
