Ruthie was a huge influece on my life as a teen in Canton, she was like a second Mom to me. I remember going to her house to find her daughters not home. Ruthie always made me stay and hang out with her. She would tell me stories of her childhood in Germany, ask me about my woes and just enjoy being together. She loved to cook and introduced me to some wonderful German meals. I absolutely loved her german potato salad and home made pasta. She showed me at christmas time to have real candles on the tree. I have candles on my tree every year (LED ones) and think of her every time I bring them out.
Ruthie will always have a special place in my heart. I have missed her over the years and am very saddened to hear of her passing.
