Kenneth Sullivan Obituary

Kenneth Edward Sullivan, of Scituate, age 52, originally from Concord, Mass., passed away on June 28, 2018, after his battle with early-onset Alzheimers disease. He was the beloved husband of Michelle Palomera and fun-loving father of Abby Nicole Sullivan and Leah Noelle Sullivan of Scituate. Ken is the loving son of mother Joan Sullivan of West Dennis and Naples, Fla., and father Kenneth Sullivan and his late wife Patricia Sullivan of Scituate. Kenzo was the cherished brother of Karen Baker and her husband Bob of Wayland, Gary Sullivan of Cambridge and his late sister Kathy Lavezzo. Also survived by niece Brooke Baker, nephew Brett Baker, step-sisters Jennifer Cardoso, Allison Richman, and Sarah Servetnik and their families as well as numerous loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Ken had a successful career in financial services holding executive positions at Brown Brothers Harriman and Fidelity Investments. A graduate of Concord-Carlisle High School, class of 1984 and University of Connecticut class of 1989, he was a natural athlete and consummate sports fan, with a particular passion for football, baseball, golf, skiing, and hoops. Ken was a kind soul, enjoyed life and always made time to help others in need. In his last employ, he was the United Way foundation representative and arranged visits to Rosies place to serve food. His volunteer work with the Friendship Home in Norwell over several years after diagnosis had an incredible impact on numerous young adults, some of whom still ask for him by name today. His contributions to the Alzheimer's Association are too many to name; however, his efforts as a National Early Stage Advisor provided him a platform and a voice for sharing his experiences to increase awareness of the disease and funding to find a cure. This took him to Washington, D.C. several times to lobby members of Congress, to various cities for speaking opportunities, the MIT Age Lab, and enabled him to provide input on emerging policy as well as movie scripts. His team, Sullys Foot Patrol continues to be a top fundraiser for the annual walk to end Alzheimers in Plymouth. His love for his daughters, family and friends was his real passion and together with his focus on the fight to end Alzheimers helped keep him going in his long valiant fight against this disease that eventually took him from us. A very special thank you to the wonderful staff at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth and Bridges by Epoch in Hingham. Ken is an inspiration to us all. Dear Michelle,

I was a colleague of Ken's at BBH. When I joined BBH Ken and I hit it off quickly as we had many common interests and were both raise in Concord. He was a great guy, very easy to work with and always supportive and friendly.

I am extremely saddened about his passing and I wanted to pass along my condolences to you and your family.

Sincerely,
Peter Wieland

Michelle and Family:
We are so sorry to hear of Ken's passing.
He was such a great guy and will be greatly missed.

When I visited him last, he was always smiling and rarely missed catching the frisbee. He still had his catcher's hands.

Sending prayers to you and your family.

Love, Michael and Diana Bartucca

One of my favorite memories of Ken was when we would meet at a local golf course, early on a Friday morning, before work (Fidelity) to get nine holes of golf in before we started our day. Those were the best days!
I am profoundly saddened to learn of Ken's passing and my deepest condolences to Michelle and the entire family.
