Jason McDermott

Jason R. McDermott - 33, of Lowell and formerly of Tewksbury, died unexpectedly at his home on October 4, 2011. Born in Winchester, MA on June 20,1978. He was raised and attended school in Tewksbury and was a graduate of Tewksbury Memorial High School. Jason was U.S. Marine Corps Veteran. He was a Lance Corporal and he studied infantry and Security Forces. He was a (RCDD) Registered Communications Distribution Designer and was a project manager. Jason applied his Marine virtues to his everyday life. He loved spending time with his family, friends, and his bulldog Sammy. He enjoyed Boxing, running the beach and vacationing, but most of all he loved life! Family members include his loving parents, John O. McDermott, Jr. and Kathy S.(Merriam) McDermott of Methuen; brothers, John O. McDermott, III of Billerica and Brian McDermott of Gardner; his sister, Kathryn McDermott of Methuen. He was the grandson of Richard Merriam of Marblehead and the late Susan Merriam, Shirley McDermott of Chelmsford and the late John O. McDermott, Sr. He was the great grandson of the late Philip and Janet Sewall of North Reading. His funeral service will be held at the Union Congregational Church, 148 Haverhill Street, North Reading on Monday, October 10 at 10 AM. Calling hours will be held at the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading on Sunday from 4 to 8 PM.
