Geraldine O'Brien Obituary

Geraldine A. (Frino) O'Brien, 72, of Brockton, and formerly of Rockland, passed away on March 29, 2015, after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. Born October 3, 1942, in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Gerald and Marian (Celia) Frino. She enjoyed working with children and worked for the Brockton School system for many years as a paraprofessional. Geraldine loved spending time with her family, especially traveling to Florida with her children and grandchildren. Geraldine was the devoted mother of Gina M. Byron and her husband Scott of Hanson and David J. OBrien Jr. and his wife Mary of Centerville; loving sister of Marianne MacCormack and her husband Ronald of Rockland; cherished grandmother of Andrew OBrien, Scott Byron, and Victoria Byron; dear aunt of Matthew MacCormack. Visiting hours were in the Sullivan Funeral Homes, 45 East Water St., Rockland, Monday, April 6, from 5-8 p.m. Funeral Mass was celebrated at Holy Family Church, 403 Union St., Rockland, Tuesday at 9 a.m. Interment private. Donations in Geraldines memory may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168 Boston, MA 02284-9168.
